At Sedge Garden Baptist Church, we believe the Bible to be the Word of God and the ultimate authority on faith and the way we live as followers of Jesus Christ. For this reason, we find our purpose from the scriptures. The Bible reveals a wonderful variety of specific things we are to do, but generally, there are three ministries, which comprise our purpose.

          First, we have a ministry of WORSHIP to God.

      "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment."            Mat 22:37-38

      Secondly, We have a ministry to the GODLY, that is to other followers of Jesus Christ. We are to love one another, pray for each other, support and encourage each other until the return of Jesus Christ, which is our hope.

      "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."                                                                      Heb 10:24-25 

          And Last but certainly not least, we have a ministry to those who have not yet heard about nor entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our mission begins here, right where we live and extends out in support of missionaries around the world.
